Mubasher: Kuwait Telecommunication Co (Viva) reported a decline of 16.8% in net profits during the first quarter of 2019 compared to the same period a year ago.

Earnings shrank to KWD 9.63 million ($31.7 million) in Q1-19 compared to KWD 11.57 million ($38.1 million) in Q1-18, according to a bourse disclosure on Monday.

The decline in Q1-19 profits is attributed to lower revenues. Viva posted a decrease of 14.1% in operating revenues to KWD 66.61 million in Q1-19 from KWD 77.58 million in Q1-18.
